The Birth of PHP Cloud Development Podcasts (dot com)

PHP Cloud Development Casts logo

You’ve watched RailsCasts, you’ve watched ZendCasts – but what about screencasts for PHP Cloud Development techniques? Well, we were surprised to find that there was nothing, yet, available to satisfy that need. There’s cloud development casts for .Net developers and presumably for Java developers as well. But not much in the PHP space. So we decided to commit to the project and make it happen.

What is it?

Though it’s at least a month (and a bit) away at this stage, we’ve begun development on a new site that both pays homage to RailsCasts and ZendCasts and is devoted to bringing you, once a month (potentially once a fortnight) a screencast about a technique of cloud development through the lens of PHP.

The screencasts will teach one technique per/cast and run for 10 – 20 mins at most, so that you can focus on the technique and implement it as soon as possible in your projects.

What will it cover?

Though it’s early days, we’re planning to cover the following topics:

  • What is cloud development
  • Deployment
  • Platforms & Providers
  • Design
  • Development
  • Testing
  • Team Development & Collaboration
  • Frameworks
  • Configuration
  • Migration and more…

Who’s it for?

If you’re an intermediate PHP developer who’s keen to know or know more about cloud development, then this is for you. If you’re an advanced developer, we hope that you get a lot out of it as well. If you’re a beginner developer, don’t shy away – you’re more than welcome.

Where do we find it?

Easy – you can find it at: www.phpclouddevelopmentcasts.com.

How much does it cost?

That’s the best part – nothing. Down the road, we may look to offer premium features, but, initially, all the content is free.

Special Thanks to Our Sponsors

Like any project it wouldn’t be complete without assistance from others. So we want to thank the projects primary sponsor – cloudControl. They’ve been kind enough to provide us with use of their platform to make this possible. So a big thank you to them for doing that.

We’d love your help

If you have time to spare, we’re on the look out for technical reviewers for the content. As we want to produce high quality content for you, we need to ensure its quality. So if you’re a professional php cloud developer, have a passion for both php and cloud development or are just a guru developer and have time, we’d love to hear from you and get your assistance and eagle eye in reviewing the cast before it goes live. So, keep an eye out as we’ll be release regular updates here on the blog, on Facebook, Twitter and Google+.
